Dear Family & Friends of All American Village,                                                                                      5/01/24

Hello from All American Village!!  I hope everyone is looking forward to warmer weather and summer.  It has been a month since our last newsletter, mainly because we continue to have had NO positive resident or staff COVID-19 cases.  There have been many new COVID-19 rule changes from the CDC, IDPH, and CDPH due to the decrease in COVID-19 cases in the area and we continue to monitor.  Is COVID-19 gone?  No, but we are still taking some precautions, and for the most part, we have stopped many of the restrictions that used to be in place.  Please note, if COVID-19 is found within the facility, we will revert to placing the resident on a 10-day isolation period and if it is a staff member, that staff member will be off work for a quarantine period.  I want to reassure you that the safety and well-being of your loved one at All American Village continues to be our top priority. Related to COVID-19 and CDC, guidelines, we continue to stay up to date with data.  In April we did have a COVID vaccination clinic and 99% of the residents received the newest vaccine.  Some staff members also chose to take the new vaccine although not required in order to protect themselves and our residents.  Our residents and staff continue to be educated on any vaccination updates.  Recently new CDC and IDPH/CDPH regulations have come out which had very good news.  IDPH and IDPH/CDPH stated that residents and staff that are, “up to date” with their vaccinations, testing will only occur, unless we have a positive confirmed case.  This is why we make sure everyone gets vaccinated in hopes to not have any more positive cases.  We continue to monitor all our residents and staff and some good news lately was that we DO NOT require wearing masks! Staff and residents have the choice to wear a facemask if they choose, which will be provided by the facility.  Everyone is still instructed to wash their hands, and to follow our infection control policies.  If you have any COVID-19 related questions, please feel free to call Chi Chi (Director of Nursing) at 773-334-2224 Ext. 105.

So how is it going All American Village?  July 1st our facility will mark the 2-year Anniversary with our ownership company, Jade Financial, and we continue to see improvements and growth!  We continue using an in-house therapy company, (Renewal Rehab), which allows us to provide 7-day a week therapy to meet the needs of our residents. We do not hire agency here because we want our residents to see consistent and caring staff on a regular basis.  Our staff continues to provide the best care possible for your resident.  Our activities department calendar continues to add new and exciting activities to their already wonderful program, especially outdoor activities during the beautiful weather!  We are so excited to see these positive changes continually happening at All American Village.  Kierra Randle, our Activity Director, is always looking for donations of art supplies, books, and magazines.  If you would like to donate, please reach out to her at 773-334-2224 Ext. 108.

GOING ON A HOME VISIT OR COMING TO VISIT??  We encourage daily visits but please let us know when you want to take your resident on an overnight pass.  If you are scheduling an overnight pass, please call 773-334-2224 and ask for Shall, Sade, or Reneisha, in Social Services. We would like to welcome two new staff members that you may encounter when working with our Social Services departments.  Our in-house visiting hours are 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and special accommodation can be made if you can’t visit during those times.  Although families and visitors have a choice to wear a mask while visiting, we ask that visiting take place in our dining room area rather than on the units until there is no further risk of COVID. Special requests to visit on the units can be requested to the Administrator.

**I would like to take a moment to express my appreciation for all the residents, staff, families, physician, and vendors that I have cared for and worked with at All American/All American Village over the years.  It is with a sad heart that I am resigning at the end of the month and taking on a new challenge.  I am becoming a chief operations officer over five nursing facilities.  I have truly enjoyed my time at All American Village, and I know the new Administrator and staff will continue to provide wonderful care for your resident.  Again, THANK YOU all for the wonderful memories and I wish only the best for all of you.  You will all continue to be in my prayers!

Please stay safe and watch your mail for any future letters and updates.  Have a wonderful summer!  You can also check our website at: allamericanvillage.com ~ “Pickles” (Admin)
